Rose "Big Aunt Rose" Traverso around 1900.
Rose Callixto Traverso in her first communion dress. She was born in Galveston, TX on April 12, 1894 and died in LaMarque, Tx on March 9, 1983. She was Dan Traverso, Sr.'s aunt but only four years his senior. She was know to his family as "Big Aunt Rosie" to distinguish her from her niece and Dan, Sr.'s sister, Rose Emily Traverso. She married Robert Lee Faust and they had four sons, Robert, Jr., Anthony, Harry Louis, and Donald Faust.
Rose Callixto Traverso and her mother, Rosa Puppo Traverso about 1910. Rosa later moved back to Galveston from Chambers County, Texas and spent her last years with her only daughter. Maria Rosa Puppo was born in Genoa, Italy April 1, 1852 and died in Galveston, Texas December 10, 1923.

Robert Lee Faust, Sr., who married Rose C. Traverso, was born in Sellersburg, Indiana on November 29, 1894 and died in Galveston, Texas on June 14, 1966. Uncle Bob was a good friend and drinking buddy of Dan Traverso, Sr.

Anthony "Tony" Faust was killed in action with Japanese naval forces in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, Oct. 23 - 26, 1944, when the aircraft carrier he served on, the U.S.S. Gambier Bay was sunk.
